Eco scheme
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO), is a government energy efficiency scheme for Great Britain, administered by Ofgem.
The main objective of ECO is to reduce fuel poverty by improving the least energy efficient houses occupied by low income, vulnerable and fuel poor households.
There are a number of ECO schemes available and you do not have to be on benefits to potentially qualify.
What ECO schemes are available and do I qualify?
There are a number of schemes from:
- Eco3 - you must claim one of the listed benefits.
- Eco4 - Your total household income is under £31,000 or you claim a listed benefit
- GBIS - Your home has an energy performance certificate (EPC) rating of D or below and a council tax band of A, B, C, D, E.
- LA Flex - Your total household income is under £31,000 or if anybody within the household has respiratory illness or cardiovascular illness.
